1 killed, several injured in shuttle bus crash near Denver International Airport

One person died and several were injured overnight in a crash west of Denver International Airport involving a pickup truck and an off-site shuttle bus, police said. The crash near Tower Road and East 81st Avenue happened early Sunday morning, around midnight, Commerce City Police Department spokesperson Joanna Smalls said. Smalls said the person killed in the crash was a passenger on the shuttle, which investigators believe is an off-site airport shuttle not owned by DIA. Paramedics took nearly a dozen people to hospitals, several of whom had serious injuries, Smalls said.
