Head-on crash in Brighton kills man, seriously injures woman

A 47-year-old man driving his truck the wrong way in Brighton in the early morning hours Tuesday crashed head-on into another vehicle, seriously injuring the female driver. Bierstadt and East Bridge streets. Police said the male driver was driving his truck eastbound in the westbound lanes when the collision occurred. Alcohol was likely a contributing factor to the crash, police said. The male driver was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. He later died there, police said. The woman he crashed into, who was not identified, was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries. No update was provided about her condition. The male driver’s identity is being withheld pending identification by the coroner’s office and notification of family.
