Woman killed in southern Colorado boating accident

A 43-year-old woman died Saturday afternoon in a boating accident at Lake Pueblo State Park, according to Colorado Parks and Wildlife. The accident involved “a powered watercraft and contact with the engine propeller” near Denver Cove at about 4 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the state agency. The cove is mid-lake near the north shore, agency officials said. Pueblo State Park rangers and Pueblo West Fire Department crews responded to the boating accident, according to the release. A park ranger patrol boat escorted the boat with the victim to the North Shore Marina, where the other first responders were waiting. The woman, who has not been publicly identified, died at the scene, agency officials said.
