Two adults dead in apparent murder-suicide in Pinewood Springs

Two adults were found dead Tuesday in a home in Pinewood Springs in an apparent murder-suicide. Just after 4:30 p.m., Larimer County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of two deceased adults in a home on Deer Lane, according to a Larimer County Sheriff’s Office press release. The Larimer County Coroner’s office conducted an autopsy and found that both people died from gunshot injuries, the press release stated. The autopsy also revealed that the 65-year-old woman’s death was attributed to homicide and the 64-year-old man’s manner of death was suicide, the press release stated. It did not describe the deaths as a murder-suicide. The case is under investigation, but the preliminary investigation does not show any threat to the community, the press release added. “This kind of sudden and tragic loss of life leaves a lasting impact on families, friends, and the surrounding community,” LCSO Investigations Captain Bobby Moll stated in the press release. “As our investigators work to find out what happened, our Victim Response Team and Chaplains will continue offering support to those directly affected.” The press release urged anyone with information to contact LCSO investigator Marcus Simelane at 970-498-5515.
